Why I Practice
Over the last 9 years my continued yoga practice integrated with psychological knowledge, has taught me many things; how to be kind and gentle with myself, how to understand and accept my body; yet also how to feel fit and strong. It has assisted in my recovery from insomnia, addictions and an eating disorder. I now know how to properly relax and through mindfulness techniques I have changed my relationship to my thoughts, enabling a greater awareness and control over unhelpful habits and negative self talk therefore being less likely to be swayed by anxiety, fear and distraction.
My yoga nidra practice has transformed the quality of my sleep - enabling me to find a deeper more restorative sleep as well as help me recover lost sleep.
A friend encouraged me to try a yoga class at a time of work related burnout and intense stress. I was reluctant at first, as running, aerobic dance and combat style classes had been my go-to. In my first class I bust into tears on the mat, but something shifted and I connected to a tiny grain of calm that I had not felt before. It’s helped me feel happier and healthier, soothed my mind, move with and through grief and deal with stress more effectively.
Sally is an expert in tailoring and adapting the sessions to meet your own needs, from one to one sessions or private group sessions. Her Yoga Nidra is essential for those struggling to relax as it brings about a deep relaxation other practices may not do so as well. Thanks Sally.

Why I Teach
I love seeing people begin to feel good about their bodies and start to become curious about the workings of their minds. My passion is creating spaces for people to be themselves, connect, let their guards down and boost self-acceptance. As you are aware, modern life had amplified our anxiety, we are increasingly stressed, disconnected, frazzled and exhausted at the moment. By combining conscious movement and mindfulness techniques you can create distance from feelings of stress and generate a sense of calm and well-being. In my classes we laugh, we sometimes cry, we wobble, stumble and fall but we get up again.
During my teacher training with the fabulous Antonina Ramsey at InHarmony School of Yoga Therapy in Malaga, I became fascinated with the science behind yoga. How the asanas (postures) directly influence our nervous system, and how meditation helps to re-wire our brains. I was so excited to share this knowledge and so worked with a lot of clients suffering with sleep issues, addictions and stress, delving deeper into teaching yoga and mindfulness to improve mental health.
I encourage everyone I teach, to connect the dots between their practice on and off the mat. Blending, Mindfulness, Hatha, Flow and Embodied Yoga principles to support you to let go of a shapes-based practice, focusing more on awareness and what feels good for your particular body.
For 15 years I worked as a youth and community worker, supporting homeless and refugee communities in Manchester and Brighton, in the UK. I case-worked hundreds of people, suffering with substance use disorders and mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, supporting them to move forward in their lives. For two years, I taught mindfulness and yoga in a rehabilitation centre in Spain for addiction, eating disorders and trauma.
Because of my background, I am empathic and intuitive to my clients needs and my classes are inclusive, welcoming a diverse range of ages, abilities, body types, ethnicities and backgrounds. I work holistically with my private clients, meeting them exactly where they are. For me, Yoga is not about flexibility and there is no pressure to perform in any of my classes. I aim to cultivate a little joy and also bring an awareness that at any given moment each one of us is dealing with something.
Sally is a wonderfully intuitive yoga teacher. She understands that yoga is for the individual rather than a fad and encourages you to find your own path. Her yoga Nidra sessions have really helped me sleep.
